Nursery remote learning
Hello and welcome to Nursery's class page!
This term we are delving into our Talk 4 Writing texts. This half term we are looking at 'The 3 little pigs'. We have been taking part in lot's of independent learning in our continuous provision. We even had our own giant straw, sticks and bricks houses made out of cardboard! We loved using these in our retelling of the story. When it was the start of spring, we also explored our school grounds and went on a spring walk! It was so interesting.
In Math's, we have started having a number of the week! We have learnt about the numbers 1,2,3 and 4. In our last week of term we are learning about the number 5. Focusing on a number every week helps us to deepen our understanding and 'number sense'.
In phonics, we have been continuing to learn our phonics songs and we love to sing the alphabet. We play lots of game such as 'Noisy Neighbour' and 'Silly Soup' to help us with our phase 1 phonics. We have also been practicing how to hear syllables in words and to clap to the beat.
As well as phonics, we love to talk to each other. We always have our 'Weekend News' time every Monday so we can tell our friends what we have been up to!
We have been taking part in lots of music activities this term. It has been so fun to practice to the beat, learn how to be slow and fast and keep in time with the music. We have also been learning what it means to be high and low and how the music makes us feel. Does it make us feel happy or sad?
We have PE every Friday morning with our new coach. We have been learning how to move and travel in different ways. We also have 'Dance Friday' every Friday! It's so fun! We work really hard on our physical development skills and our new EYFS outdoor area has helped us with our balancing skills. Our favourite activity is to play on the scooters and to slide down our grass bridge.
We love to take part in dough disco every week to make our hands nice and strong!
We have been practicing and learning our new Hillcrest promise everyday and we know that we always have to 'Aim High and Achieve'. We now know that this means to always try our best.
We love our new 'Gem Powers'. We are exploring our independence with our diamond power during choosing time.
We love to take pictures and we put all of our learning onto the 'Tapestry' app. Please come and see Mr Wilson if you need any help accessing Tapestry.
Mr Wilson also puts all of the class and school updates onto 'Class DOJO'.
