Little Sparkles

Welcome to Little Sparkles!

Our Nursery supports children aged 2 in their early development leading to a smooth start in education.

In Little Sparkles, we follow the children's interests and ensure we adapt and change our language and questioning to further our pupils learning. We explore lots of sensory and creative activities. We engage in counting activities as well as lots of mark making provision.

We open up our doors to create a free flow environment. This means that the children can access the outdoor provision as well as the indoor provision at any time they wish. We have a fabulous outdoor area and it looks absolutely beautiful. We have so many outdoor areas to enjoy and we really enjoy our toadstool reading area! The children love to listen to stories every day!

We have snack time every day. The children can choose to have milk or water and there is a different fruit to try each day. During this time, we practice our nursery rhymes. At the end of the day the  parents are informed what we have eaten and had to drink. We also let our parents know if nappies have been changed or if the children have used the toilet during session.

We love our new 'Gem Powers'. We are working on being independent with our exploring during free flow time.

In Little Sparkles, every child has a Key Person. This is a named member of staff for every child who ensures that they feel safe and cared for.

We put lots of our learning on 'Tapestry'. This is a secure online learning journal where parents can view their own child's weekly learning through photos, observations and videos.

We also update our ClassDojo feed. ClassDojo allows us to connect with parents and answer any questions.

We love Nursery Rhymes!

In Little Sparkles, we love to learn new nursery rhymes!

Nursery rhymes help us to extend our vocabulary and build up our confidence over time. They also help us with our memory and our counting!

We sing lots of nursery rhymes but we focus on 2 specific nursery rhymes per term. These link to our learning.
